A Night Of Jazz And Blues To Touch The Soul:

Kelly Mittleman To Perform In Redding

REDDING — Keeping it fresh. Infusing the time-tested and the traditional with a contemporary pulse. Knowing when to play it soft and soulful, yet also when to crank it up until everyone is on their feet. It’s what great singers do. And it’s what recording artist and former Newtown resident Kelly Mittleman will do in a special area concert in Redding.

From 7:30 to 10 pm on Saturday, October 20, Ms Mittleman and her all-star band will perform at The First Church of Christ, Congregational at 25 Cross Highway. Tickets for this public concert are $25, and can be purchased by contacting Paula Schwear at 203-938-9349.

Doors open at 7 pm.

This will be the second year that First Church Redding transforms its fellowship hall into a jazz club, complete with special seating and décor, to showcase Ms Mittleman’s signature talent. Last year’s event sold out.

Since placing as a finalist in the NBC “Today” show’s national talent contest, Ms Mittleman’s career has taken off.  In addition to regular studio and club work in New York and Connecticut and select international engagements, she opened recently for jazz legend Maynard Ferguson and landed the sole back-up spot on Dianna Ross’s latest CD.  Ms Mittleman works with legendary producer Nile Rodgers and continues to add to her neo-jazz song book with original, heartfelt, and urban flavors.

All are welcome to attend this special musical performance.
