Foster Care And Adoption Open House Slated
Southbury â Foster Adoptive Mission (FAM) will hold a foster care and adoption open house at Sacred Heart Church in on Thursday January 21 (snow date January 28), at 6:30 pm.
FAM is a federally funded, community collaborative whose mission is to find safe, nurturing homes for children in the Connecticut foster care system. It is recruiting families to be foster and adoptive parents in the northwest corner of Connecticut.
FAM partners with a number of agencies, including Boys & Girls Village, community residences, Family and Childrenâs Aid, Jewish Family Services, and New Opportunities, as well as the Department of Children and Families. Representatives from each agency will provide information and answer questions at the open house.
Teenagers are an often underserved population in foster care and regularly wait too long to find good, loving homes. FAM partners need patient, responsible, loving adults with enough time to help them during their personal hardship. The need for good homes for young infants has also increased recently.
Limited free child care will be available with a reservation; call 203-706-0101.
