Piano Workshop Students Play-In At Masonicare
A group of students from Julieâs Piano Workshop recently performed for residents of Masonicare of Newtown. The students, ranging from age 6 through 16, entertained a roomful of seniors with a program that included Broadway, popular, and classical vocal and piano selections.Â
The piano students who played were Richard Bomely, Orion Bracksieck, Paige Conner, Alie DeBorja, Amanda LoCascio, Stephen Mayer, Caitlin Moss, Daniel Sibley, Julian Totir, Aidan Waaler, Emma Walsh, and Rebecca Walsh. Claire Alexander sang âThey Were Youâ from The Fantasticks, accompanied by her teacher Francine Wheeler. Mother and daughter Lynn and Lindsay DeBorja played a piano duet, âMy Heart Will Go On,â with Lindsay also singing the lyrics.
The Masonicare Play-In is one of three performance opportunities students have during the course of the current school year. In the fall they performed at Masonicare, and in June there will be a Spring Celebration recital for family and friends at St James Lutheran Church in Southbury. Students also have the option to prepare a solo program with the guidance of their teacher to perform at area nursing homes.
