Holiday Closings

All town offices and agencies will be closed from noon on Thursday, December 23, to 8 am on Monday, December 27, for the Christmas holiday. The following week, offices will close at noon on Thursday, December 30, and remain closed until Monday, January 3, for New Year’s.

C.H. Booth Library will be closed Friday through Sunday, December 24–26, for Christmas, and Friday through Sunday, December 31–January 2, for the New Year’s holiday.

Newtown Senior Center will close at noon on December 24 (no lunch served), and will reopen at Monday at 9. The same schedule will be followed on Friday, December 31.

The transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road will close at 11 am on December 24 and will reopen at 7 am on December 27. The same schedule will be followed for the New Year’s holiday.

The public schools will be closed from December 24 to 31. Classes resume on January 3.

The offices of The Bee will be open on Thursdays, December 23 and 30, but closed Fridays, December 24 and 31.

Please note that deadlines for the issue of December 31 will be affected by the holidays. Everything will be due 24 hours earlier than normal.
