Ethel G. Grouse

Ethel G. Grouse died November 13 at the Bethel Health Care in Bethel at the age of 91. She was the wife of the late Andrew J. Grouse, Sr, and lived at 101 Simon Road in Bethel.

She was the mother of Sandra Marquis of Newtown.

She was born in Pittsburg, Penn. February 7, 1908, daughter of the late Charles and Jeanne (Ironside) Beale, and came to Danbury as a child and attended Danbury schools. Se settled in Bethel two years ago prior to entering Bethel Health Care.

Mrs Grouse was a retired hydro therapist at the Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown for 25 years.

In addition to her daughter, Mrs Grouse is survived by a son, Andrew J. Grouse, Jr, of Brookfield; another daughter, Joan McAllister of Danbury; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Betty Jean Grouse, and her grandson, Andrew J. Grouse, III.

Funeral services were private.

The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
