It’s been one year

But it seems like just one day.

If Heaven had a stairway

I’d come and bring you home.

Each time I hear a phone ring

I want to hear your voice

Telling me to come and get you

You’re ready to come home.

What I would give to touch you,

And to see your smiling face.

I’d trade all of my tomorrows

To feel your warm embrace.

Please take good care of Popa

For I know he’s there with you.

God knew what he was doing

The day he took you home.

But part of me went with you

So you’ll never be alone.

Someday we’ll be together

When we meet at Heaven’s gate.
