Sale Features 160,000 Books

In 75 Categories

It is year 28 for the Booth Library Labor Day Book Sale. The sale, which will feature more than 160,000 books and records in 75 categories, will run from August 30 through September 3 in Bridgeport Hall at Fairfield Hills.

The hours will be the same all five days: 9 am to 5 pm.

The fiction room will offer thousands of alphabetized, hardcover and paperback books, with subcategories that include classics, mysteries, science fiction, and romance. The nonfiction room features a wide range of categories including art, architecture, history, biography, cooking, health, gardening, finance, travel, computers, and much more. A children’s corner includes a reading area for kids, thousands of fiction and nonfiction books organized by type, reading level, and series for easy selection.

A big draw is always the rare book room, which contains hundreds of excellent, much-sought-after collectible books.

Adult admission will charged on Saturday only: $10 from 9 am to noon and $5 from noon to 5 pm. Numbered tickets will go on sale from noon to 9 pm on Friday August 29 and at 8 am on Saturday at the book sale site.

On Monday, all books and records will be half price, on Tuesday shoppers may fill bags for $8, and on Wednesday, everything will be free.

The sale is sponsored by The Friends of the Cyrenius Booth Library, and all proceeds will benefit the library. For more information, call the library at 426-4533 or visit the website, www.biblio.org/chbooth/booksale.htm.
