‘Dolly’ Opening Richter Season

DANBURY — Nine Newtown residents are among the cast for Musicals at Richter’s season opener, Hello Dolly!, which began performances last weekend.

The exuberant Michael Stewart-Jerry Herman musical theater classic will be performed on the grounds of Richter Arts Center, next to Richter Park Golf Course at 100 Aunt Hack Road, weekends until July 3.

Performances are outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings at 8:30 pm, with grounds opening at 7:15 for picnics. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $12 for students and children. Group rates and subscriptions are available; chair rentals may be made with advance reservation.

Stephen Petrovich of Newtown is being featured in the role of Barnaby Tucker, and Melanie Beck is portraying Minnie Fay in the Richter production. Also in the musical are Max Barrett, Maggie Demarco, Victoria Marlin, Nick Petrovich, Elyssa Samsel, and Stewart Tabler.
