UConn Student Receives CSCPA Children’s Scholarship

The Educational Trust Fund (ETF) of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) recently awarded a CSCPA Children Scholarship to University of Connecticut senior accounting major Jessica Snow of Sandy Hook.

The CSCPA Children’s Scholarship awards students majoring in accounting who have a parent holding CSCPA membership.

Ms Snow received her award during an annual joint dinner meeting of the CSCPA Educational Trust Fund and the CSCPA Relations with Colleges and Universities Committee held at the New Haven Club in New Haven. Ms Snow’s father, CSCPA member Jeffrey Snow, CPA, attended the presentation.

The CSCPA Children Scholarship Program awards up to five $500 scholarships to qualifying students. To qualify, students must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5 and a GPA of at least 3.0 in accounting in any of the 13 Connecticut colleges and universities recognized by the State Board of Accountancy. Students are eligible to receive the award in their senior year.

The Connecticut Society of CPAs is celebrates its 96th year of service to membership and community alike. CSCPA has a current membership of more than 6,200 individuals in public practice, business and industry, government, and education. Its function is to provide continuing education opportunities, a comprehensive practice peer review program and a variety of membership services for CPAs in Connecticut.
