Here’s The Pitch … Softball Results

U12

Associated Refuse 10, Newtown Glass 4: For Associated Refuse, Juliana Sansonetti, Meghan powers and Ivy Lee had good games at the plate. Liz Townsend pitched 3 scoreless innings and Emily Davis sparkled in the field. For Newtown Glass, Shaina Stamp and Julia Frattaroli had good games at the plate while Anna Guaragno, Leonie Schmitt, and Megan Logan turned in strong performances s in the field.

Associated Refuse 16, Taunton Press 3: For Associated Refuse, Ivy Lee, Shaina Errico and Meghan Powers had 4 hits each. Rebecca Vodola, Caitlin Jones, and Chiara Tersak had good games defensively. For Taunton Press, Shaina Evanko and Kaylie Daniels had 2 hits a piece while Brooke Hadgraft and Amanda Vitti turned in nice plays in the field.

Associated Refuse 15, Newtown Glass-13: For Associated Refuse, Emily Davis, Liz Townsend and Emma Hungaski had nice games offensively. Maddie Erhardt and Emma Cizmazia had great games behind the plate. For Newtown Glass, Brittany Gonzalez pitched 2 strong innings. Meghan Logan led the offense with a a 3-run triple. Anna Guaragno and Shaina Stamp both had hits for Newtown Glass.

Associated Refuse, 18, Taunton Press 5: For Associated Refuse, strong pitching performances came from Liz Townsend, Shaina Errico and Meghan Powers. Caroline Stolfi, Caitlin Jones, Emily Davis and Ivy Lee powered the offense. For Taunton Press, Tonya Tucker and Amanda Vitti pitched well. Rose Pagett, Kelly Skewis and Brooke Hadgraft had nice games at the plate.

U14

Newtown General Store 16, Southbury 9: Nadia El-Hag and Casey French pitched well for the General Store. Great plays in the outfield were made by Julia LeBlanc, Shannon O’Gorman and Georgia Controis. Mallory Ames, Kamryn Harmeling and Heather Leone played solidly in the infield. Kate Butera and Sarah Hull added key hits.

U16

Dr Beck’s Pink Ladies 14, Woodbury Tigers 6: Pitcher Alena Ruscoe had 7 strikeouts in the win. Allie Soderholm had a good day offensively, delivering a single and a double, while Mariah Joy smacked a solid single to left field. Alicia Capozziello contributed defensively by making two good plays at second base. Claire Miles made a great catch in center field to rob the Tigers of an extra base hit.
