Lillian Estelle Clark Shockley, 88, died October 8, in California. She was born in Newtown to Caroline Brownson Clarke and George L. Clark. She grew up in Sandy Hook, and was educated in the public schools here.

She is survived by a son; a brother; one grandson; and two step-grandsons.

A graduate of Yale School of Music, Ms Shockley was an accomplished pianist and taught music for a time after graduation from college. She left a heritage of joyful appreciation of the music of life.

A Celebration of Life was held October 15. Burial will be at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, Calif.
