NYFS Seeks Board Members

Newtown Youth & Family Services is a licensed, nonprofit, mental health clinic and youth service bureau. The agency provides outpatient individual, couple, and family counseling and substance abuse treatment services. In addition, it offers prevention initiatives, after school, evening, and weekend programs and support groups to promote individual and community wellness.

NYFS is expanding the current board of directors from 13 to 17 and seeks to fill four open board seats. Board members attend one meeting per month (fourth Monday of the month) and participate in community-minded agency events like Independent Living Day or fundraisers such as the Newtown Road Race. Ideal candidates would be able to participate in activities such as treasury, fundraising, nominating new members, etc.
