Vandalism

Sometime between 9 am and 5 pm on November 3, someone vandalized an unspecified vehicle that was parked in the rear parking lot at Booth Library at 25 Main Street, police said.

The vehicle had been parked in the lot in a manner that would physically reserve a space for a bookmobile that was scheduled to stop at the library that day.

The vandal left a note in the vandalized vehicle complaining that the vehicle was occupying two parking spaces, police said.

The vandal apparently used a key to deface the right side of the vehicle. Police are investigating the crime and ask anyone who knows the vandal’s identity to contact them at 203-426-5841.

Theft From Vehicle

Someone sometime between 8:20 and 8:50 am on November 14 broke a passenger-side window of an Acura MDX SUV that was parked at Club NewFit at 23 Commerce Road, police said.

The forced entry into the SUV also damaged the vehicle’s door. The thief stole a purse containing cash and credit card from within the Acura, police said. The total loss is estimated at $870. Police ask people with knowledge of the crime to contact them at 203-426-5841.

Evading Responsibility

Police said this week that sometime during a major snowstorm on October 29, an unknown motorist who was driving a white pickup truck with a cargo bed cover affixed to it struck a parked unspecified vehicle on the northbound shoulder of Hawleyville Road, near its intersection with Farrell Road. The truck’s driver then drove away from the accident. Police ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to call them at 203-426-5841.
