Swearing-In Ceremony Set For November 27
Town Clerk Debbie Aurelia has announced that a public swearing-in ceremony for any newly elected or reelected town official will be Sunday, November 27, at 3:30 pm in the Newtown Municipal Center main meeting room.
State Senator and GOP Minority Leader John McKinney is scheduled to serve as master of ceremonies, and Newtown Judge William Lavery will be on hand to administer the oath of office to various incoming officials who will then begin their terms by Charter stipulation on December 1.
A reception with light refreshments will follow in the main hall of the town center, with entertainment being provided by invited local student musicians. The public is encouraged to attend and there is no charge for the event.
