Frederick A. Crouch

Frederick A. Crouch, 67, died peacefully December 23, following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Mary Dougherty Crouch. Born in Rosenheim, Germany, September 20, 1946, he was the son of Anna Crouch and the late Dave Crouch.

Mr Crouch was raised in the Sandy Hook section of Newtown.

He served as a firefighter in the US Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He was an artist with stone as his medium for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing with his grandson, camping, hiking, and golf.

In addition to his wife and mother, three sisters and spouses, Dinah and Jim Walsh of Newtown, Susan and Dan O'Connor of Southington, and Pamela and Tim Palmer of Roxbury; a brother, Arthur Crouch, and his wife Norma, of New Milford; his daughter Emily, son Eli, and grandson Sebastian Ruscoe, all of Northfield, Conn.; and four nieces and four nephews survive Mr Crouch.

His family would like to thank his mother, brother, and sisters for their unfailing support and also Peter Wooster, Brian Gawel, and Peter Moritz for their constant emotional and moral support for Fred and his family.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, December 28, at 11 am, at the First Congregational Church in Litchfield, 21 Torrington Road. Burial will be private.
