We All Can Be Heroes

On Friday, September 21, 2001, I attended a funeral for a friend’s husband who was killed in the tragic events of September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center. He was not a firefighter or a policeman, yet he was a hero to his friends and family.

As deeply sad as the events of September 11 have been, I’m heartened by Newtown’s response. The school system treated these awful events with compassion and sensitivity. The candlelight vigil held at the high school was a wonderful tribute. The outpouring of donations seems to be tremendous.

Thanks to The Bee for reporting all these positives!

In one way or another we all can be heroes. Thank you Newtown. United we stand!
