Daren Anderson Liker, 58, a former resident of Newtown, died suddenly August 14, at her residence in England. She was born September 3, 1956, in New Rochelle, N.Y., to parents Robert and Elinor Anderson.

Two daughters, Jordan and Chelsea Liker, who meant so much to her; as well as her brother, Douglas Anderson, of Newtown; and her ex-husband, Steve Liker of Sherman survive Ms Liker. Her father, Robert Anderson; mother, Elinor Anderson; her twin brother, Hamilton Anderson; her sister, Janetta Fritch; and her brother, Robert Anderson predeceased her.

She graduated from Upsala College in East Orange, N.J., where her father had graduated, with a degree in English. She obtained a master’s degree in English literature and education from Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport. Ms Liker held numerous teaching positions throughout Connecticut while living in Newtown. She eventually moved to England as a manager of an International ESL School in Bath and Canterbury.

As a result of her father being a CFO for Exxon Asia, Ms Liker grew up in Singapore and Malaysia, before moving to Candlewood Lake in New Milford.  She loved to travel and spent her summers as a child traveling throughout Europe with her brothers.

She loved to cook and taught Southeast Asian cooking in Adult Education classes in Brookfield.

She was quick to point out and correct improper English — and her family is certain she is doing so from afar, for this obituary. Her family and friends will always remember her as a classy, thoughtful, and fun loving person.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the residence of Douglas Liker, 21 Cross Brook Road, Newtown, from 1 until 4 pm. All are welcome to attend.
