Programs On Energy Choices

SOUTHBURY — Bob Maddox, director of marketing and sales for the Connecticut Energy Cooperative, will discuss “Energy Choices, Your Money, and the Environment” at 7:30 pm on Monday, July 23, at Pomperaug Woods, 80 Heritage Road, Southbury. Admission to the talk is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Mr Maddox, a Bethlehem resident and former state representative, is director of marketing and sales for the Connecticut Energy Cooperative, a not-for-profit organization that helps its members save money on energy purchases and reduce the environmental impact on their energy use. More information on the Connecticut Energy Cooperative can be found at www.energyforme.com.

Mr Maddox holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BA degree in economics from Western Connecticut State University. He worked on energy and environmental issues while serving as a state representative from Litchfield County. He lives in a solar home and is a member of the board of directors of the Northeast Organic Farmers Association. Mr Maddox plans to drive to his July 23 presentation in his gas-electric hybrid automobile that goes up to 70 miles on a gallon of gasoline.

Mr Maddox’s presentation is part of an ongoing environmental lecture series at Pomperaug Woods sponsored by the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition.
