Hat City Blues Band — Presents a benefit concert for Newtown Youth Services on Friday, May 16, from 7:30 to 10:30 pm in the Alexandria Room of town hall. Tickets are $8. Door prizes, great fun, great music, great cause! Tickets are available at NYS.

Newtown Youth Services’ Annual Meeting and Gail Smith Awards — NYS invites the public to attend this celebratory evening, Monday, May 19, at 7 pm.

Parent Programs

“Managing Stress in Parents of Preschoolers” — Facilitated by Judy Gibney, RN. This program will take place on Thursday, June 5, at 9:30 am, in the Parents’ Corner.

Ongoing Groups

Moms of Multiples –– Will meet on Thursday, May 22, at NYS.

Working Moms –– Meets the first Saturday of the month at 10 am. Next group is June 7.

Youth Programs

4-H –– Moving Back to the Greenhouse at Fairfield Hills — Grades 1–4 meet on Tuesdays, from 3:30 to 5 pm. Grades 5–8 meets Saturdays, 10 am to noon. Call 270-4335 to sign up.

SibShops –– Meets on the third Thursday of the month from 3:45 to 5:30 pm at the middle school. The next meeting will be May 15.

Children of Divorce –– Grades 2–5, Mondays from 6 to 7 pm, will be held at NYS. The next group will meet on Monday, May 12.

Youth Group Meetings

Excellent opportunity for fun community service projects!

HSYAB (High School Community Service Group) –– Has finished its meeting schedule for the school year.

MSYAB (Middle School Community Service Group) –– Zoom Party, Wednesday, May 14, from 4 to 5 pm, at NYS. Come to the premiere of YAB’s Zoom show. Special sneak preview!

NYCAAP (AIDS Awareness Group) –– Meets every Wednesday from 5:45 to 6:45 pm.

AIDSWEAR –– Meets every Monday from 5:15 to 6:15 pm.

Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to attend or call NYS for further information. All programs will take place at Newtown Youth Services, 41-A Main Street, unless otherwise noted. To register or for information, call 270-4335.
