Music Centre Concerto Competition

DANBURY — Danbury Music Centre announces its Second Annual Concerto Competition. The prize will be a solo performance with Danbury Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, February 8, 2004, at Ives Concert Hall in Danbury

Student musicians through senior year in high school in September 2003, living in the greater Danbury area, are eligible to audition. The contest is open to performers of all orchestral instruments, as well as piano and voice.

Applications must be postmarked by October 20 and mailed to Danbury Music Centre, 256 Main Street, Danbury CT 06810, along with a non-refundable $25 application fee  (payable to Danbury Music Centre) and a recording in any format, representing the applicant’s skill level. Up to ten finalists will be selected based upon these tapes.

Auditions for finalists will take place on November 23. Finalists will perform from a repertory list as supplied by Danbury Music Centre.
