Day Trip To MFA And Isabella Gardner Museum

WATERBURY — On Tuesday, July 29, the Mattatuck Museum is offering a day trip to two premier Boston museums.

Participants will visit the Museum of Fine Arts and then continue on after “lunch on your own” to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

MFA Boston is hosting “Thomas Gainsborough, 1727-1788,” which presents to American audiences for the first time the full range of one of the most celebrated English artists.

The Gardner Museum, meanwhile, is celebrating its centennial with a major exhibition called “The Making Of The Museum: Isabella Stewart Gardner as Collector, Architect & Designer.”

The bus will leave the commuter lot on Chase Parkway at 8 am and return around 6 pm. A limited number of tickets are available. The cost is $90 per person, which does not include lunch. Call 203-753-0381 for reservations or details.
