Resident Honored By Sacred Heart University

For Years Of Service

Julie Savino of Newtown recently received an award for 25 years of service to Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.

The award presentation was part of the university’s annual celebration of Founders’ Day on March 17.

“We have come a long way in a short time,” reflected President Anthony J. Cernera.

Sacred Heart University was founded in 1963.

Dr Cernera continued, “I can’t help but affirm that this day gives due honor to the memory of a man, Walter W. Curtis, Bishop of Bridgeport, whose initial vision and energy made this great University possible.”

Ms Savino was among 28 recipients of Founder’s Day awards honoring staff and faculty for 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service.
