Competition Announced

DANBURY — Danbury Music Centre announces its Third Annual Danbury Symphony Orchestra Student Concerto Competition. The prize will be a solo performance with the Danbury Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, February 6, 2005, at Ives Concert Hall.

Student musicians through senior year in high school and living in the greater Danbury area are eligible to audition. The contest is open to performers of all orchestral instruments, as well as piano and voice.

Applications must be postmarked by Monday, October 4, and mailed to Danbury Music Centre, 256 Main Street, Danbury CT 06810, along with a non-refundable $25 application fee (payable to Danbury Music Centre) and a recording in any format, representing the applicant’s skill level.

Up to ten finalists will be selected, based upon these tapes. Auditions for finalists will take place on Saturday, November 6. Finalists will perform from a repertory list as supplied by Danbury Music Centre.
