Selling Produce To Schools    Â
TORRINGTON â The Litchfield County Farm Bureau has invited Elizabeth Fleming of the Hartford Food System (HFS) to present the Connecticut Farm-to-School Program at the auditorium of UConn Extension Service, 843 University Drive, from 8 to 9 pm, on May 19.
The mission of the Hartford Food System is to enable people in Connecticut to have access to nutritious and affordable food. To this end, HFS implements programs and advances policies that promote a sustainable and equitable food system.
The presentation is free and open to anyone who is interested in learning how to market their farm-grown produce to the local schools. School personnel who would like to learn how to buy produce from local farms are also encouraged to attend.Â
