Gustave G. Schneider

50-Year Mason

Gustave G. Schneider, 92, of Trumbull, formerly a longtime resident of Fairfield, died August 14 at the Maefair Health Center. Born in Fairfield, Mr Schneider had been a town resident for most of his life. He was the beloved husband of the late Nellie Steade Schneider.

Survivors include three children, John Schneider and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Newtown, Joan Melius and her husband, Clair, of New Bern, N.C., and Robert Schneider and his wife, Jeanne, of Cheshire; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr Schneider was a retired supervisor for the Bullard Company in Bridgeport. An avid golfer, he was a member for many years of the H. Smith Richardson Men’s Club. He was a former member of the First English Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, where he served for many years on the church council. Mr Schneider was a 50-year Mason and a member of Ashlar-Aspetuck Lodge No 142 AF & AM.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19, at 11 am in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 18, from 5 to 8 pm in the funeral home.
