DANBURY — The Danbury Hospital Cardiac Support Group will learn CPR training and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in case of an emergency at the next meeting on Wednesday, August 22, at 7 pm. The group meets in The Praxair Cancer Center conference room, located on the first floor of the Stroock Building.

Parking is free in the Red Parking garage, Locust Avenue entrance.

Featured speaker is Janice Van Wart, MSN, APRN-BC, CES, of Ridgefield, a nurse practitioner at the Praxair Regional Heart & Vascular Center at Danbury Hospital. She will discuss the new CPR guidelines, demonstrate how to use an AED. Information on becoming certified will be provided.

The Cardiac Support Group meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Wednesday of the month, and offers people with heart disease, pre- and postoperative cardiothoracic surgical patients, their families and caregivers, education, encouragement, and support.For information regarding the Cardiac Support Group or The Praxair Regional Heart & Vascular Center at Danbury Hospital, go to www.danburyhospital.org.
