Summer History Camp Registration Open
The Newtown Historical Society is now taking reservations for its third annual Summer History Camp, which will be held this year during the week of July 21â25.
This is a unique, hands-on camp experience geared to inquisitive young time travelers. Campers dress with costumes provided to make the 18th Century truly come alive each day. Activities include making and playing marbles, churning butter, cranking homemade ice cream, tin punching, open hearth cooking, folk painting, colonial outdoor games and more.
Camp will meet at the Matthew Curtiss House, 44 Main Street, home of Newtown Historical Society, from 10 am until 1 pm each day.
The camp is for children ages 8â10 and is limited to ten campers. Cost is $150 per child. To reserve a camp spot send a nonrefundable $25 deposit (which will be applied to the camp fee) along with the childâs name, age, parent name, address, phone, and e-mail address to Gordon Williams, Â 32 Main Street, Newtown CT 06470. Make checks payable to Newtown Historical Society.
