Has Trio Of Shows

Sabrina’s Encore Productions LLC has three shows in the works for the summer season. There are 174 students involved in the summer season, the majority of which are residents of Newtown, where the theater studio is located.

The season will kick off with Steven Sondheim’s Into The Woods, at Ives Concert Park in Danbury on Fridays and Saturdays, July 17-18 and July 24-25. Performers in grades 7-10 will be accompanied live by a professional six-piece orchestra.

Gates open at 6 pm for picnics and curtain is at 8. Reserved premium seats are $20, $18 for senior/students; reserved seats are $18 and $15, and $15 general lawn seats.

The second production will be the Mel Brooks musical comedy, The Producers. The winner of a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards, this show will be presented at Edmond Town Hall in Newtown.

The cast includes graduates of Boston Conservatory, Ithaca College, Gettysburg and Iona along with students from surrounding Fairfield County. The cast will be accompanied by a 12-piece professional orchestra, many with Broadway credit.

Performances will be Wednesday, July 29, through Sunday, August 2. Curtain will be 7:30 pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, with matinee on Sunday at 2. Reserved premium seats are $23.50, $20 for seniors/students; reserved seats are $20 and $18; and balcony seats are $18 and $15.

The final show will be Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Kids, also at Edmond Town Hall, by a cast of 40 in grades 1-5, on urday, August 1, at 2 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for senior/students.
