For Youths
At about 1:19 am on Sunday, March 13, police received an anonymous complaint informing them that there was a party in progress at a house at 35 Cherry Street in Sandy Hook, police said in a statement.
Police said they investigated and found approximately 20 youths there ranging in age from 16 to 20 âpartying in the house with significant amounts of alcohol involved.â
The homeowners were not at home at the time of the incident, but had hired a house sitter, police said.
Police said they issued house sitter Nicole Denkus, 28, of Niantic an infraction ticket for permitting a minor to possess alcohol. Such a ticket carries a fine. Such a ticket is appealable in court.
None of the youths at the party required transport to a hospital for medical situations, police said.
All of the youths at the party were released into the custody of their respective parents, police said.
