Numerous Volunteers Sought For Open Seats

First Selectman Pat Llodra is seeking Newtown residents interested in serving on various town boards and commissions as appointees. Anyone qualified and/or seeking to participate as a volunteer for the town government or its agencies should review the following list and contact Mrs Llodra if they would like to get involved:

*The Lake Zoar Authority has a vacant position for a Republican or unaffiliated voter.

*The Commission on Aging has an alternate vacant position for a Republican or an unaffiliated voter.

*The Economic Development Commission has a vacancy for a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

*The Sustainable Energy Committee has a vacancy for a Democrat or unaffiliated Voter and an open position to a Republican, unaffiliated, or Independent voter.

*The Cultural Arts Commission has a vacant position for a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

*The Public Building & Site Commission has a vacant position for a Republican or unaffiliated voter.

*The Employee Benefits Oversight Committee: there is one vacancy each available to Democrat, Independent, and unaffiliated voters. Knowledge of insurance is a plus.

*The Pension Committee:  There is an opening available for a Republican or unaffiliated voter.

*The Hattertown Historic District has an open position open to any party affiliation and an open alternate position for a Democrat, unaffiliated, or Independent voter.

*The Design Advisory Board has an open position available to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

*The Hattertown Historic District and Sustainable Energy have had long-term openings.
