Doski, Lynch Recognized

The Connecticut Federation of Volleyball Officials named Newtown High School volleyball players Abbey Doski and Jess Lynch among the recipients of the Val Dickinson Memorial Volleyball Awards for the 2011 season.

This award is given in memory of Val Dickinson, a CFVO official, who was inducted posthumously to the Connecticut Women’s Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2009.

The applicants, seniors who played volleyball for the high schools in Fairfield County, were nominated by their coaches.

Recipients are selected based on their exemplary volleyball skills, exhibition of leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and love of the game.

The Newtown teammates, who helped their team to South-West Conference and state titles, were among seven honorees.
