ROCKFORD, ILL. - Former Sandy Hook resident Martha Miller Byrnes has been appointed director of college relations and publications at Rockford College, Rockford, Ill.

ROCKFORD, ILL. — Former Sandy Hook resident Martha Miller Byrnes has been appointed director of college relations and publications at Rockford College, Rockford, Ill.

Ms Byrnes was manager of publications at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., until earlier this year, relocating to Roscoe, Ill. from Sandy Hook last spring with her _husband David and three children. She previously held positions in marketing communications at ISC-Bunker Ramo in Trumbull and T-Bar in Wilton; was a technical writer for Defense Industry Publishing, Wilton; and held other positions in public relations, publications and alumni relations at Salem College, W.Va. and Spring Garden College, Philadelphia.

A Connecticut native, Ms Byrnes holds a bachelor of arts degree from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Penn., and studied toward a master of science in journalism at West Virginia University.

Chartered in 1847, Rockford College, a Phi Beta Kappa college, is a four-year independent coeducational institution offering a broad range of undergraduate degrees in traditional liberal arts and professional fields plus master’s degrees in teaching and business administration. Rockford College serves more than 1,325 full- and part-time students.
