An 8 pm performance on Saturday, May 3, will mark the ensembleâs second appearance at New Havenâs Woolsey Hall. A second performance on Sunday, May 4, at 4 pm, at First Congregational Church in Danbury will be the last opportunity to hear this renowned chorus until June, when they lend their voices to a special concert at Carnegie Hall.
Director John Robert Liepold has selected two groundbreaking Psalm settings for the concertâs feature pieces: Handelâs Dixit Dominus and Stravinksyâs Symphony of Psalms. Also included is Mendelssohnâs Hear My Prayer. Â The Connecticut Choral Society Orchestra will join the group as well as several feature solo artists.
Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.
