Help The Relay Shine

To the Editor:

This Saturday, May, 21, Relay For Life will be selling luminarias for $10 outside of Stop & Shop, Excel Tutoring, and William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. Please buy a luminaria in honor of or in memory of a loved one with cancer. The luminarias will line the track at Relay For Life and be lit at the Luminaria Ceremony on June 5 at 9 pm at Fairfield Hills.

After the ceremony, all those in attendance silently walk the track carrying candles. I encourage everyone who has ever been affected by cancer to come to this. One in three people is diagnosed with cancer, which means that everyone knows someone who has had cancer and should be part of this meaningful event. (You do not need to be a registered participant to come.) You can also buy a luminaria online at www.relayforlife.org/newtownct.

Thanks to all the volunteers who will be selling luminarias this Saturday. I know that together we are making a difference to find a cure for cancer and support survivors.
