Artful American-Made Gifts
Are Popular At BCC Holiday Sale
BROOKFIELD â âFine handmade American craftwork provides the perfect solution to last minute gift giving challenges for that special someone,â according to Jack Russell, director of Brookfield Craft Center.
The center, located in a restored circa 1780 grist mill on Route 25 in Brookfield is open daily through
December 31 (except Christmas) for creative holiday shoppers. All three floors of the historic local landmark have been filled with designer quality functional artwork for the 29th Annual Brookfield Craft Center Holiday Exhibition & Sale. This yearâs sale, as in past years, offers home and office items and stylish handmade apparel for the fashion conscious.
Prices range from a few dollars for handmade tree ornaments to several hundred dollars for one-of-a-kind art jewelry and hand-blown glass vases. There are also thousands of mid-priced ceramic, wood and metal artful gifts of lasting value.
âCustomers tell us they are delighted to find so many creative gift options on display, and they really like the fact that they are supporting American craft artists and our non-profit school for fine craftsmanship,â said Mr Russell.
The event is staffed by volunteers, many of whom are also participating artists.
Brookfield Craft Center is just east of the âFour Cornersâ intersection of Routes 7/202 and 25, a few miles north off exits 9 or 7 off
I-84. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays from noon to 5 pm. Admission is free.
