EAST DENNIS, MASS. — Eldred’s will feature antiques, accessories and tools at auction on Saturday, January 29, at 10 am. Previews will be Friday, January 28, 10 am to 8 pm, and the morning of the auction, 8:45 to 9:45 am.

Tools will include 100 lots of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century hand tools sold singly or combined. Among them will be a rare Leonard Bailey split frame jointer plane, 1855 patent; a Sargent #1085 combination plane with blade in original roll-up; and a Shiverick rosewood screw arm plow plane with additional boxwood body.

Furniture will include a Hepplewhite one drawer stand, a Chippendale pine chest, a Windsor chair and an Empire pine secretary. A Nineteenth Century open face hutch cupboard, a wagon seat bench, a Victorian five drawer chest, lamp stand and three drawer bureau will also be offered.

Among books will be 65 lots of art and antiques reference, architecture, monographs, Deyo’s History of Barnstable County, sporting and other subjects.

Musical instruments will include a Henry Richard Knopf violin #330, several King trumpets and a cornet, a Connecticut trumpet, a Martin Indiana trumpet, two Stainer (copy) labeled violins, two Cole Eclipse banjos and a Selmer Bundy trumpet.

Clocks will include an Ingraham beehive, a Waltham mantel, an Adams #241 shelf and a Nineteenth Century French black marble.

Simon & Halbig, German bisque, a Nineteenth Century china head and Norah Wellins will be represented among doll offerings.

Paintings will include works by John O’Hara Cosgrave and T. Bailey, an early Twentieth Century patchwork quilt, prints, Limoges, Wedgwood, Hummels and Oriental rugs will be offered.

Brazilian Baroque Talk Jan. 25

NEW YORK CITY — Stephen Hurrell of Notus Gallery will host the first in a three-part lecture series, “Brazilian Colonial Antiques Illuminated,” on Tuesday, January 25, 7 to 8 pm.
