BETHEL – The 4-H Fall Nutmeg Benefit Horse Show has been slated for Sunday, September 10, at the Cooperative Extension System grounds on Stony Hill Road in Bethel.

The popular Open School show will feature divisions in English Equitation, Hunt Seat, Western and Trail. Most classes will be pinned through sixth place with the first-place winner also receiving a trophy.

Divisions will be awarded champion and reserve ribbons.

Sponsors of the show include Anderson Windows and Doors, Interstate+ Lakeland Lumber, Fairfield County Extension Council, Fairfield Equine, Bit O’ Tack, Beval’s Saddlery and Benedict’s Home and Garden.

The high point horse and rider combinations from both the Spring Benefit and Fall Nutmeg shows will receive year-end awards in the following divisions – Open Beginner Hunter and Walk/Trot (sponsored by Sunny Brook Farm in Newtown); Low Hunters (Clearview Farms of Sandy Hook); Kentucky Hunter Classic (All The King’s Horses of Ridgefield); and Western Adult Walk/Jog (Happy Trails Farm of Danbury).

Year-end awards will also be available for all Western Junior divisions, Western Adult divisions, Adult Pleasure, Junior Pleasure, Color Horse and Junior Equitation.

Proof of a current rabies vaccination (within one year) will be checked at the gate for each animal.

Refreshments and a photographer will be available on the grounds. A tag sale will also be conducted that day. For a prize list, stop by the Cooperative Extension System, 67 Stony Hill Road in Bethel, or call 203-207-8440.
