On Wednesday, August 30, Newtown Meeting House will be host to what sponsors The Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society promises will be a spectacular night of traditional Irish music and song.
The electrifying duo of Liz Carroll on fiddle and John Doyle on guitar will perform a concert scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.
One of the greatest Irish-American fiddlers of all-time, Liz Carroll is also widely acknowledged as the greatest composer of her generation. Among her countless accomplishments is recognition by the National Endowment For The Arts, Americaâs highest accolade for a folk musician.
John Doyle first came to international prominence a decade ago as the founding rhythmic genius behind the groundbreaking band Solas. He has since established himself as a highly acclaimed singer, with two critically acclaimed solo albums, and is also a much sought-after producer.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children.
