Wesley Learning Center Dedicates New Playground

On Sunday, October 17, as a part of the Newtown United Methodist Church service, the Richard Rauner Memorial Playground was dedicated. Since the opening of the Wesley Learning Center in 1993, there have been numerous fundraisers to accumulate the money to erect a new, safe playground for the children. Richard Rauner, a postman by trade, was an instrumental helper in erecting the new playground and bringing smiles to the faces of the Learning Center’s children. He died of heart failure this year, but will always be remember by the children that he loved who will play on their new playground.                                                                                   —Bee Photo, White
