Coldwell Banker Celebrates Move To The Village At Lexington Gardens
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage hosted its ribbon cutting ceremony with the Newtown Chamber of Commerce on the evening of October 4 to celebrate its move to The Village At Lexington Gardens, 32 Church Hill Road.
The Newtown sales office, previously located on South Main Street, opened at its new address on August 1.
The space provides its real estate team of roughly 50 agents with a bright, open floor plan that has multiple desks, printers, and copiers.
“With this layout, agents don’t have assigned seats. They bring their laptop in or they use the resource computers,” said Karen Alpi, vice president and office manager of Newtown’s Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office.
In addition to its front reception area and conference room, Ms Alpi says there are also individual offices that have been built for agents Chris Fairchild, Kathy Suhoza, Richelle and Bob Ward, and Andy Sachs and his Around the Town Team.
The office was designed by Project Manager Wendy Hunt, who also helped launch Greenwich and Stamford’s new offices earlier that week.
Ms Hunt says Coldwell Banker is looking to “standardize” all its offices and move away from outdated, dark furniture. Instead, they have focused on applying popular color schemes of greys and silver tones for a more modern look. The Newtown office still has its traditional blue accent wall to represent the company’s statement color.
During the grand opening celebration, community members and friends were invited to tour the new facility and enjoy a variety of food and refreshments.
Ms Alpi thanked everyone for coming out to show their support and said she could not have done the move without her team, who did everything from pack and unpack boxes to schlep papers.
She also gave a special shout out to Kate Rossi, the regional executive vice president of Coldwell Banker/NRT’s Eastern region, and Joe Valvano, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y., who were in attendance.
Mr Valvano told the crowd gathered around that he remembers visiting the Newtown branch’s old site when he came into his position in 2016 and felt then that it was time for a change of location for the company.
“It’s been a long time coming…” he said, but he is now looking forward to the group continuing to be able to thrive in town.
Ms Rossi echoed his sentiments adding, “I’ve never seen a building define an organization. Buildings are great, and it’s new, but it’s the people standing in this room that make us look really good… I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I’m proud of each and every one of you.”
Also present at Coldwell Banker’s celebration was First Selectmen Dan Rosenthal, who acknowledged the “wonderful space” the business selected at The Village At Lexington Gardens.
“It’s really a perfect site for an office to bring new folks into town and show them what’s terrific about Newtown. This office contributes a lot to the fabric of the town,” Mr Rosenthal said. “I’m really grateful to see the investment you continue to make in the community.”
