A Beautiful And Useful

Memorial

(The following letter to the Tercentennial Committee has been received for publication.)

Dear Members of The Newtown Tercentennial Committee:

On behalf of the Board of Managers and the staff of the Edmond Town Hall, we wish to express our appreciation and gratitude to your committee for choosing to gift the Edmond Town Hall with a new seating plaza at the front of the building.

This beautiful plaza — complete with granite benches, Tercentennial Memorial Plaque, lawn, and plantings — is a generous and longstanding gift that will be used and enjoyed by townspeople for years to come.

We also wish to express our sincere thanks to Dan Cruson and Brigette Sorensen who were the liaisons between the Tercentennial Committee and the Board of Managers. They were instrumental in planning, developing, and overseeing the project and helped ensure a minimum of disruption to the daily flow of traffic at the building.

Again, our sincere thanks for providing a beautiful and useful memorial that is truly in keeping with the tradition that began with Mary Elizabeth Hawley’s gift of the Edmond Town Hall to the people of Newtown.

Sincerely

Chairman Jay Gill for the Board of Managers

45 Main Street, Newtown                                                June 19, 2007
