The Law And Legacy Of The CCC In CT

BROOKFIELD — On Wednesday, April 23, Brookfield Museum and Historical Society will host a lecture and PowerPoint presentation by the noted historical author and newspaper columnist Marty Podskoch on “The Law and Legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Connecticut.”

The corps, founded 75 years ago, was established during the depression by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt as part of his New Deal.

Mr Podskoch, a retired teacher and the author of four books, is currently amassing information for a book on the Civilian Conservation Corps. He and his wife Lynn live in Colchester.

The event will be held at the museum, located at the intersection of Routes 25 and 133 in Brookfield Center. It will begin at 7:30 pm.

Admission is free and the public, especially anyone who may have participated as part of the CCC, is encouraged to attend. Following the presentation complimentary refreshments will be provided by DeGrazia Winery
