Longtime Guitarist With Spontaneous Combustion
Karl F. Schwichtenberg, 58, of Sandy Hook, died at his home on June 7 after a long illness. Mr Schwichtenberg was born in New Haven on August 18, 1950, a son of Frederick and Betty Labarnes Schwichtenberg, and had resided in the Sandy Hook section of Newtown for the past 15 years.
He was the beloved husband of Erica Palmquist Schwichtenberg. He is also survived by his loving daughter, Diana Schwichtenberg of Sandy Hook.
Mr Schwichtenberg was a Vietnam-era veteran.
He was a guitarist, and along with his wife who was a violinist, played with the band Spontaneous Combustion for 30 years. He was also the store manager at Kaneâs Music Store, Danbury, for the past 22 years.
A memorial service was held June 10 at Edmond Town Hall.
The Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, North Haven, was entrusted with arrangements.
