Rocco D’Elia and Erin Hughes

Claire and Michael Hughes of Sandy Hook announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Elizabeth Hughes of Brooklyn, N.Y., to Rocco Anthony D’Elia, also of Brooklyn. The groom to be is the son of Frances D’Elia of West Suffield and the late Cono D’Elia.

A July 2010 wedding is being planned.

Erin is a 2000 graduate of Newtown High School. She also graduated from Roger Williams University with a bachelor’s degree in English, and then from American University with a master’s in public communications. She is a casting assistant for Grant Wilfley Casting in New York City.

Rocco is a 1998 graduate of Suffield High School. He then studied and graduated from Quinnipiac University with a bachelor’s in communications, and a minor in interactive arts. He is an operations specialist for NBC Universal in Manhattan.
