Children’s Lantern Festival Slated At The Waldorf School

The public is invited to join students and faculty of Housatonic Valley Waldorf School for a Lantern Walk on Saturday, November 14, from 4 to 5 pm, at the school, 40 Dodgingtown Road.

The school will host the lantern walk in honor of Martinmas, a northern European festival celebrated by Waldorf Schools worldwide. The event is designed for children age 2 through 6 with their parents.

Parents and children will construct a simple, colorful lantern with cutout stars, moons, and suns. They will hear a special Martinmas story, sing songs, and carry their lighted lanterns outside into dusk. 

All materials for the lantern walk are provided; a $5 to $10 donation is suggested per family. Reservations are recommended. For reservations or more information call 203-364-1113.
