Newtown Phone Book 70, Southbury Printing 62 – Steve Bigham poured in 27 points and Dave Samoskevich added 26 more to lead the Newtown Phone Book to the win. Paul Carpenter chipped in with 11 first-half points. For Southbury Printing, Jason Platt canned 18 points (including a pair of three-pointers) while Mike Kish popped in 13 points. Jim Anderson added 10 more.

Total Pool & Spa 85, Nejame & Sons 84 – Gary Jossick scored 28 points (including four three-pointers) and Frank Galante added 23 (including two three-pointers) to lead Total Pool & Spa to the win. Tom Santella scored 19 points and Bill McNerney added 14 as Total Pool rallied from a 16-point halftime deficit. For Nejame, Jeff Hadded – with seven three-pointers on the night – scored 29 points while Mike Bolton (18), Ken Wright (16) and Paul Mueller (13) all hit for double figures. The two teams combined for 17 three-pointers.

D’Amico Painting 77, Blinds Guys 60 – Phil Wilson poured in 34 points – including 10 three-pointers – to lead D’Amico to the win. Paul Holko (18), David Faye (13) and Steve D’Amico (12) all hit double figures. For the Blinds Guys, Adam Hayden scored 20 points to lead the way. Bo Crotta chipped in with 12 points, Eric Anderson added 11, and John Modzelewski contributed nine.

Women’s Basketball

Alpine Realty (behind Shelby Neveriski’s 33-point effort) and Denmo’s (behind Katie Abromovich’s 31-point, 12-rebound effort) remained tied at 6-1 atop The Gym At Newtown Women’s Basketball League. Here are the results:

Alpine Realty 63, Newtown Mobil 42 – Shelby Neveriski scored 33 points as Alpine Realty improved to 6-1. Tori Anderton added 12 points while Laurie Miller had 10 points and Kelly Fegler chipped in with five points and 17 rebounds. For Newtown Mobil, Lynn Lattanzio had a team-high 16 points with eight rebounds and a steal. Karen Katrinak added 12 points while Amy Proulx and Laurie Bain combined for 14 points.

Denmo’s 57, Walsh Logging 33 – Katie Abromovich scored 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Denmo’s remained in a tie for first at 6-1. Holly Ferguson scored 12 points as Caroline Ward, Laura Cook and Denise Brough combined for 14 points, six rebounds and five steals. For Walsh, Valerie Light popped in 24 points as Lisa Schang added 16 points and seven rebounds.  Jennifer Zdziarski added 10 points (with a pair of three pointers) and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Colorgraphics 65, The Gym at Newtown 46 – Karen Powell poured in 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Colorgraphics won its first of the year. Denise Passano contributed 15 points as Maura Keenan added 14 points and 17 rebounds. Colleen Ruiz had six points and five rebounds. For The Gym, Mel Darrah and Jennifer Thomas scored 11 points apiece as Thomas grabbed 15 rebounds. Janet Duffey, Carolyn Signorelli and Carolyn Schreiber combined for 14 points and 14 rebounds.
