To the Editor:

This is the first time I have written a letter to the editor, but I feel compelled to do so. I am writing to lend my support to Chris LaRocque, a candidate for the Legislative Council in District 2.

Chris needs your support on November 3 in order to bring a fresh perspective to the council and Newtown. Chris has the educational background and practical experience to excel and be a wonderful representative for the citizens in District 2 and all of Newtown.

Having known Chris for over a dozen years, I can attest to his strong character and values. He grew up in Newtown and has now returned after living in Washington, D.C., to help Newtown improve. It must take a devoted person to give up a lucrative job in a big city to come back to his roots and serve others. He is a constant contributor to our town, and in the winter you may even see him at the high school where he is an assistant coach for the varsity basketball team. It also shouldn’t surprise others that he is joining the Navy Reserves as an officer and will soon serve in our Armed Forces.

I hope you will join me in voting for Chris LaRocque on November 3.
