Bridgeport  â The Workshop In Business Opportunities (WIBO) is now accepting application requests for the fall semester of its entrepreneurial training course. WIBO will conduct its tuition-free, 16-week workshop, âHow to Run a Growing, Profitable Business,â at FSW, Inc, 475 Clinton Avenue.
Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 13, and will meet each Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, through January 10.
WIBO, also known as âthe boot camp for entrepreneurs,â started its first class in Harlem, N.Y., in 1966, and today conducts workshops throughout New York City, in Bridgeport and in several foreign countries. Through FSW, Inc, the program was introduced to Bridgeport in the fall of 1999.
More than 375 of Bridgeport WIBOâs graduates now run healthy, growing, small businesses in the greater Bridgeport area.
WIBO offers comprehensive classes that cover the essential aspects of starting and running a successful business, including market research, customer development, sales skills, advertising, break-even analysis, price assessment development, profit management, personnel, cash flow, financing, record keeping, business law, business plan development, and more.
At the end of the 16-week semester, students receive a WIBO certificate of completion, and more importantly, will have developed a detailed operational plan for their business. WIBO graduates are entitled to free lifetime consulting services from an extended faculty of area business owners and executives.
The course is tuition free, though students are charged a modest fee for the course workbook. To schedule an admissions interview, or for further information, call 203-368-5547.
