Getting The Word Out

To the Editor:

As promotion chairs of the Newtown Arts Festival, this past weekend we asked visitors how they heard about this event. In most cases they replied, “The Bee.” In a time when many newspapers are significantly cutting articles about local people or activities, The Newtown Bee continues to be a strong community advocate.

The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission thanks The Newtown Bee and its marketing and editorial staff for the newspaper’s extensive coverage of the festival. The success of this event truly rested on communitywide support, with area artists, educators and businesses, town personnel and administration, nonprofit organizations, emergency professionals, schools and students, and numerous volunteers all lending their help and expertise.

The Newtown Bee provided a central focus for this townwide effort, printing the festival news and features and helping us get the word out to everyone involved.

Thank you again, Newtown Bee, for your ongoing community support.
