Sign Up Now For Summer Theatre Connections

Summer Theatre Connections, a drama program run by the Newtown High School Theater Department in conjunction with Education Connection, is returning this summer for its sixth year. The program’s objective is to provide students with a chance to experience what it is like to be involved in a theatrical production, exploring aspects including acting, singing, dancing, set, and costume production. This is a free program offered to students in Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Easton, Newtown, Redding, Southbury, Waterbury, and Woodbury. Transportation is provided for students outside of Newtown upon request.

The camp is broken into two age groups. Students entering grades 3 through 5 will produce a musical variety show. The camp will run daily from 9 am to 1 pm (transportation for lower grades available upon request). The performance will be on July 28 at 5 pm.

The students entering grades 6 through 11 will be produce the classic Cinderella. Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 26, from 11 am to 4 pm, and Sunday June 27, from 2 to 5 pm. This is for placement only. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, June 28. The camp will run daily between 8:30 am and 1 pm. Performances will be on July 30 at 7:30 pm and July 31at 3 pm.
